The Work of
NISOS KINEO
Our Work
At the core of NISOS KINEO’s mission is the operation of empowerment and social skills development groups for adolescent and pre-adolescent girls.
NISOS KINEO collaborates closely with the Dodecanese Child Protection Facility, providing structured psychosocial and developmental support to the children and adolescents in its care.
The methodology is grounded in participation, empathy, and creative expression. Meetings take place on a weekly basis, either within the facility or in the wider community, and include:
-
Experiential workshops
-
Art therapy sessions
-
Psychoeducational discussions
Through the group sessions, girls are supported and guided on issues such as:
-
Relationships and conflict management
-
Self-care and self-love
-
Social inclusion and acceptance of diversity
-
Career orientation
-
Exploration of personal goals and aspirations
An integral part of the program involves identifying and recording the individual needs of the girls, in collaboration with social services and caregivers. These needs may relate to education, extracurricular activities, or personalized psycho-emotional support.
